Portraits

In this series, I satirize advertising and media campaigns through intensified portrait formats and mass-produced materials. Constructing playfully ominous reflections of societal fracture and sardonic depictions of American popular culture.

Some of the kitschy media that I collect and incorporate into these works include nail polish, foil, glitter, buttons, marker, decorative paper, rhinestones, spray paint, tape, office supplies, and trinkets. While not individually alluring, these elements, when combined, form vivid images of dark shiny pop.
